We Must Stop Spectra Now (sing it loud and proud)
We Must Stop Spectra Now
(to the tune of The Occupy Wall Street Song)
by Paul Stein

Fracking is a dirty deed,
Fueled by mindless corporate greed.
Wind and solar are what we need.
We must stop Spectra now! (chorus)
(chorus)
We’re marching to demand
A healthy frack-free land.
We say “no”, this gas can’t flow.
Spectra must be banned!
Pipelines sometimes burn and explode,
High pressure plus a flammable load.
Folks will die if it bursts down the road.
We must stop Spectra now! (chorus)
Governor Cuomo, outlaw fracking!
Send those toxic gas folks packing!
It’s our land and water they’re attacking,
We must stop Spectra now! (chorus)
Occupy Wall Street At West Indian Day Parade in Brooklyn on Labor Day
Photo of part of Occupy Wall Street contingent at the West Indian Day Parade before the parade started and before the cops refused to let us march with our OWS banner and signs as guests of Transport Workers Union Local 100 (who had invited us to join them). After being blocked for some time by a large brigade of cops, OWS ended up being allowed to march, but only without our banner and signs, and after our union friends had long ago marched by.

Part 2 of Peter Yarrow and Bethany Yarrow Protest Song Workshop
Part 2 of this instructive and inspirational workshop led by Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul and Mary) and Bethany Yarrow last Sunday in Manhattan that I was fortunate to take part in. If you like traditional folk and protest music, you will enjoy this video. Please scroll down this page to find Part 1. The music is beautiful and Peter’s words are moving. Paul
Peter Yarrow and Bethany Yarrow Protest Song Workshop – Part 1 of 2
A wonderful workshop led by Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul and Mary) and Bethany Yarrow that I was privileged to participate in this past Sunday evening in Manhattan. Bethany and friends assembled a great group of activist singers for an instructive and inspirational evening. And fun! I think you will enjoy listening and singing along. Paul

The Occupy Wall Street Anti-Fracking Song
by Paul Stein

Fracking is a dirty deed.
It’s fueled by One Percenter greed.
Wind and solar are what we need,
So we occupy for change. (chorus)
(chorus)
We’re marching to the beat
Of Occupy Wall Street.
We’re here to shout
We’ve been left out.
We’re turning up the heat.
Spectra Pipeline, we say “no!”
We’ve got to stop its deadly flow.
We must protect the planet, so
We occupy for change. (chorus)
Governor Cuomo, ban the fracking!
Send those toxic gas folks packing!
It’s our environment they’re attacking,
So we occupy for change. (chorus)
Fracking poisons water and land,
And causes earthquakes, it should be banned.
Before disaster strikes take a stand!
Occupy for change! (chorus)
